Common Rent Roll Parsing Issues and Quick Fixes

Rent Roll parsing failed? Here's what may have gone wrong and what you can do to fix them.

Column header and data not aligned.

In the original rent roll, please make sure that the data is properly aligned in columns. Sometimes, the column header is in one column, but the data is in the other column, and the parser struggles to tie those together correctly.

Duplicate Rows

If a row is found to be repeating a title row, delete the duplicate row and re-run the document.

Multiple tabs/sheets in the Excel file

If there are multiple tabs in the Excel file, the parser can struggle to figure out which particular sheet has the rent roll. In that case, please upload a file with a single tab. Make sure to check for hidden tabs!

Name/tenant must be in the first few columns.

Failed PDF Parsing

We have expanded our capabilities on PDF parsing, however PDFs can be very tricky in parsing since they may require OCR, rotation, encryption etc. If PDF Parsing fails, and you have the capability to convert to an Excel file, please try that. Otherwise, please email parsing.issues@archer.re and we will fix this for you.

Hidden Rows & Columns

Check to see if there are any hidden rows & columns in Excel that could have any of the things specified above. If yes, please unhide those columns, and fix file correctly.

Please send the file to parsing.issues@archer.re for any files you cannot parse.
