How to update your model template

Change formulas, add tabs, or adjust your BYOM model at any time. Here's the process.

For small changes (formatting, formulas, non-Archer tabs)

  1. Go to Settings, then Underwriting Models
  2. Download your current template
  3. Make your changes in Excel
  4. Save the file to your desktop
  5. Upload the updated file in Settings
  6. It goes to the Archer team for review — they verify that the Archer tab connections still work
  7. Once approved, it becomes your new default template

For changes that affect Archer's tabs

If your changes involve modifying how income or expense data flows (adding new expense categories, changing how comps are referenced, restructuring input tabs), let the Archer team know via email before uploading. They may need to adjust the integration to match your new structure.

Do existing underwrites update?

No. Previously downloaded models keep their original template. If you want an existing deal to use the new template, you can re-run the underwrite (Run Underwrite) and it will generate with the updated template. Your parsed data is preserved — only the template changes.

Alternatively, hit Refresh Data in the Archer ribbon on your existing model. This pulls in the latest parsed data but keeps your current template structure.
